The US International Trade Commission (USITC) has determined that there is a reasonable indication that an industry in the US is threatened by imports of boltless steel shelving units prepackaged for sale (boltless steel shelving) from Malaysia, India, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
In its June 2023 preliminary investigation report, the USITC said the items are alleged to be sold in the US at less than fair value (LTFV).
The commission also gave notice of the commencement of the final phase of its investigations, adding that it will issue a final phase notice of scheduling, which will be published in the Federal Register.
USITC said that on April 25, 2023, Edsal Manufacturing Co Inc, Chicago, Illinois, filed petitions with the commission and Department of Commerce, alleging that an industry in the US is materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of LTFV imports of boltless steel shelving from India, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Accordingly, effective April 25, 2023, the Commission instituted anti-dumping duty investigation.
“Based on the record in the preliminary phase of these investigations, we determine that there is a reasonable indication that an industry in the US is materially injured by reason of imports of boltless steel shelving units prepackaged for sale (boltless steel shelving) from Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam that are allegedly sold in the US at less than fair value.
“We also determine that there is a reasonable indication that an industry in the US is threatened with material injury by reason of imports of boltless steel shelving from India that are allegedly sold in the US at less than fair value,” it said.
