Vietnamese renewables company The Green Solutions Group (TGS) and Hydrexia (Malaysia), a subsidiary of Australian hydrogen solution company Hydrexia Holding, have partnered to deploy hydrogen refuelling stations in Vietnam, Kallanish reports.
Under the purchase deal with TGS, Hydrexia will supply hydrogen refuelling stations to TGS in a phased manner starting this year. In parallel, it will also provide hydrogen fuel cell buses, Hydrexia says without further elaboration.
The latest agreement is part of a strategic partnership between the two firms to promote hydrogen end-use applications in Vietnam. Last month, the duo signed an MOU to explore hydrogen projects, including hydrogen distribution, storage and refuelling station information management systems, in the Southeast Asian country.
“This [purchase agreement] symbolises our concrete first step in developing business in a fast-growing hydrogen market in Vietnam,” says George Gan, ceo of Hydrexia for Southeast Asia. “I believe there are many other areas where Hydrexia can work with TGS to expand the horizons of our partnership going forward.”
Winnie Huynh, founder and ceo of TGS, adds the partnership will “bring substantial values to developing the hydrogen market in Vietnam,” alongside benefitting both businesses.
Hydrexia has a presence in global markets such as Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia and the US. It focuses on offering technology solutions for hydrogen production, storage, distribution and utilisation. Early this year, it launched the Metal Hydride Trailer (MH-100T) for hydrogen storage and distribution. The company claims the trailer, made of a magnesium-based alloy, can enhance transportation safety and distance, and reduce transportation costs, compared with conventional compressed hydrogen tube trailer platforms.
