Brazil continues to impose AD duty on China’s high-carbon steel wires

On June 19, 2023, Brazil's Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX) announced its final determination of the first anti-dumping (AD) sunset review on high-carbon steel wire originating in China, deciding to continue to impose a five-year AD duty on subject products from China, with a duty rate ranging from US$124.33/ton to US$563.77/ton.

The products involved are high-carbon, high-strength, circular-section steel wires, cold-hardened by drawing, with a smooth or notched surface, low or normal relaxation, classified under tax numbers 7217.10.19 and 7217.10.90 of MERCOSUR Common Nomenclature (NCM).
