LONGi Hydrogen, Vision Grid Energy to develop green H2 in Spain

Chinese green hydrogen producer LONGi Hydrogen has partnered with Vision Grid Energy to support the development of green hydrogen-based solutions in Spain. The partnership is expected to boost the adoption of “affordable” green hydrogen, Kallanish learns from a statement from LONGi.

Under the agreement, the two companies will bring together their technologies and expertise to develop green hydrogen production facilities in Spain. At the same time, they will work on solutions to manage the energy demands in industry, transportation and communities. The partnership is also expected to boost economic growth and employment opportunities.

“By combining our expertise, we can pave the way for a cleaner, more sustainable future,” says international general manager of LONGi Hydrogen. “Hydrogen has the potential to revolutionise the energy landscape, and together, we will accelerate its adoption and drive meaningful change.”

However, the companies are yet to disclose the specific details of the agreement and any hydrogen production targets.

LONGi Hydrogen focuses on alkaline electrolysis technologies and is a subsidiary of the solar technology company LONGi. Early this year, it won the bid to supply electrolysis equipment to what is claimed to be the world’s largest green ammonia demonstration project. Proposed to be built in the clean energy chemical industry park in western Jilin, China, the plant will have a total installed capacity of 800 megawatts (MW) of wind and solar.
