South Korean POSCO launched its first low-carbon emission brand, Greenate-certified steel. Greenate-certified steel can reduce carbon emissions in the production process by introducing low-carbon production technology and using low-carbon iron materials. POSCO will produce around 200,000 to 300,000 tons of the new low-emission steel annually
The company said that starting from January to August last year, the steel plant began to increase the use of pellet and scrap steel in blast furnaces and converters, respectively, and the amount of carbon emissions through the process was reduced by 590,000 tons.
