Tata Steel says it is revoking effective 12 June the force majeure declared in February due to the disruption that occurred during the revamp of its cold rolling mill 21.
“The company has successfully regained control over its Cold Mill 21 production process. Tata Steel is confident that customer supply will return to normal in the coming weeks and months,” the company tells Kallanish. “A company-wide team has worked tirelessly on resolution of the Cold Mill 21 issues and mitigating actions to minimise the impact on our customers.”
Heather Wijdekop, commercial director at Tata Steel Ijmuiden, confirmed during last month’s Kallanish Europe Steel Markets conference that the company had turned a corner with the supply issues affecting the first part of 2023.
