SteelAsia Manufacturing Corporation (SteelAsia), a Philippine reinforcing steel bar producer, planned to launch operations of its manufacturing facility in Compostela, Cebu by June this year.
This mill is SteelAsia’s seventh steel plant, which will produce 1 million tons of high-strength rebars per year. Welded reinforcing mesh is also available at this plant.
After full operation, 500 direct jobs and 2,500 indirect jobs are expected to be created at the plant.
With the launch of the new rebar mill in Compostela and the existing six other mills across the country, SteelAsia’s total annual production capacity now reaches 3 million tons and it has topped the largest rebar producer in Southeast Asia.
