The Indian Steel Association (ISA) has asked the government to intervene and seek the reintroduction of anti-dumping duties on flat steel products and wire rods due to the increase in steel imports.
The ISA has requested the Steel Ministry to seek the reimposition of anti-dumping duties on hot-rolled flat steel products, cold-rolled flat steel products, color-coated flat steel products, and alloy or non-alloy steel wire rods by writing to the Ministry of Finance to support the domestic steel industry.
The association said that the imposition of price-based anti-dumping duties on these four steel products would help prevent further declines in import prices and prevent exporters from gradually eliminating the domestic steel industry through dictating prices.
