Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has met with the chairpersons of two Chinese companies to discuss investment into steel industry projects worth $2 billion, Kallanish notes.
Mabdouli held a meeting this week with senior officials of the Chinese companies, as well as Egypt-TEDA Company, to evaluate an investment project to produce ductile iron pipe and steel in the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone at Egypt’s Red Sea port of Al-Ain al-Sokhna, according to an official statement.
The premier added that the state welcomes and supports the projects, and hopes they will be accomplished.
Reuters meanwhile reported the senior Chinese officials were from Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipe Company and Tianjin TEDA.
