During early March, 2023, key steel enterprises produced a total of 21.52 million mt of crude steel, 19.2 million mt of pig iron, and 20.25 million mt of finished steel. The average daily output of crude steel in this period was 2.15 million mt, a decrease of 3.08% from the previous 10 days. The average daily output of pig iron was 1.92 million mt, a decrease of 4.13% from the previous 10 days. The daily average output of steel products fell 10.39% to 2.03 million mt. (In the first ten-day of March, some regions have adopted temporary control policies on steel production, hence the daily steel output has been significantly reduced compared with the previous ten days.)
