Platemaker SSAB Americas has increased plate prices for the second time in just over a month.
The company raised prices by $60/short ton today after instituting another $60/st increase on 18 January.
Plate competitor Nucor kept its ex-works plate prices flat at $1,480/st on 16 February, but the steelmaker has increased its hot rolled coil price twice in eight days recently.
The Argus US plate ex-works assessment has been mostly flat around $1,480/st since the beginning of December.
