Indonesia reviews AD duties on Chinese sections

Indonesia has launched the third anti-dumping sunset review investigation on H and I sections originating in or imported from China, Kallanish notes.

The investigation was initiated in response to the application submitted by domestic manufacturer PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk. Stakeholders should register to respond to the review within 14 days.

Products involved are classified under HS codes 7216.32.10, 7216.32.90, 7216.33.11 and 7216.33.19.

After imposing AD duties on 23 November 2010, Indonesia made affirmative rulings twice for reviews in 2015 and 2019. Now the duty rate is 11.93%.

From 2019 to 2021, shipments of the above products from China to Indonesia slumped from 41,835 tonnes to 11,189t, while the latter’s total imports only dropped from 61,472t to 60,748t. Last year however, China’s supplies jumped to 18,844t, while Indonesia lowered its total imports to 47,174t, reflecting the recovery of its dependence on Chinese products after a three-year decline.
