Japan's JFE Steel announces second expansion of electrical steel capacity at Kurashiki Works

In recent years, cars were becoming more and more electrified, energy efficiency was greatly improved, and renewable energy was widely adopted. Market demand for electrical steel plates kept increasing.

Under this situation, JFE Steel, the second-largest steel manufacturer in Japan, announced that they will increase their supply capacity of electrical steel plates.

According to JFE, the company planned to further expand the production capacity of electrical steel sheets at its West Japan Works (Kurashiki Area). The new capacity was expected to come online in April 2026.
