Taiwan’s Feng Hsin increases scrap & rebar prices, keeps section steel prices flat this week

Feng Hsin Steel Co., Ltd., one of the major electric furnace mills in Taiwan, announced to adjust the new prices of some of its main products for this week.

According to the price announcement, the purchasing price of scrap and the price of rebar were both increased by NT$300/ton, reaching NT$10,800/ton and NT$20,100/ton, respectively. The price of section steel was maintained at NT$26,300/ton. The increase in rebar price was in line with market expectations.

Feng Hsin said that there were no offers from the US scrap shipment last week. During the same period, the price of Japan’s H2 scrap and the US containerized scrap increased by 9.7% and 5.8% compared to the preceding week, respectively. Australia’s iron ore price rose by 5.1% week on week.
