The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has extended the anti-dumping duty on polymer-coated steel products imported from China for the duration of its re-investigation, says the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
The applicable measure is due to expire on 22 January 2023. The effective size of the anti-dumping duty is from 6.98% to 20.2% of the customs value, depending on the manufacturer, Kallanish notes.
The object of the investigation is cold rolled coil with a thickness of more than 0.2mm, but not more than 2mm, and a width of more than 50mm, with a polymer coating. Also being probed is cold-rolled galvanized steel with a thickness of more than 0.2mm, but not more than 2mm, and with a width of more than 50mm, with a polymer coating. These come under HS code headings 7210, 7212 and 7225.
The EEC Internal Market Protection Department received an application to conduct a second anti-dumping investigation. The information provided in the statement made it possible to draw preliminary conclusions about the possible continuation of dumping imports of polymer-coated rolled metal from China, as well as damage to EAEU producers, it claims.
“Following the consideration of the application on 16 September this year, a second anti-dumping investigation was launched,” EEC says. “The regulatory framework of the EAEU provides for the extension of the period for applying the current anti-dumping measure for the period of the re-investigation, which must be completed within 12 months from the date of its commencement.”
The initial anti-dumping measure for CRC with a polymer coating produced in China was established on 24 May 2012.
