Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance on 14 September announced that the anti-dumping duties on certain galvanised steel or zinc alloys from China and South Korea will be extended for another five years effective immediately, Kallanish notes.
These products come under HS codes 72103000, 72104100, 72104900, 72106100, 72109090, 72122000, 72123000, 72125090, 72259100, 72259200, 72259910 and 72269920.
Also, Taiwan extended AD duties against carbon steel plate originating from Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, South Korea and Ukraine, to 13 September 2027. Taking into account the international situation, the tax against Ukraine will be exempted for one year.
The plate involved falls under HS code headings 72085110, 72085120, 72085130, 72085140, 72085210, 72085220, 72085230, 72089010, 72089021, 72089030, 72089040, 72111410, 72111420, 72111430, 72111440, 72254000 and 72269100.
Taiwan imposed AD measures on the above products on 22 August 2016, and initiated a sunset review on 20 August last year (see Kallanish passim). The investigation was delayed by four months when it was supposed to conclude in February of this year. Ultimately, the ministry believes that the cessation of anti-dumping duties will again lead to damage to the domestic industry.
