US decides to impose CVD duties on steel nails from 4 countries

On August 16, 2022, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) announced its affirmative final ruling of the countervailing duty (CVD) measure on steel nails originating in India, Oman, Sri Lanka, and Turkey, as well as a negative final determination of the CVD order on same products from Thailand.

The subsidy rate for India was set in a range from 2.73% to 2.93%, that for Oman was at 2.49%, that for Sri Lanka was 4.12%, and Turkey will be subject to a CVD rate of 1.52% to 3.88%. Thailand’s Come Best (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Jinhai hardware Co., Ltd. received a de minimis subsidy rate.

The US International Trade Commission (USITC) was scheduled to make its final determinations for this case on September 29, 2022.
