On July 1, 2022, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued an announcement that Minister for Industry and Science has decided to accept the recommendation made by the Commission regarding the final ruling of second anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) measures.
Therefore, the AD measure on hollow structural sections from China, South Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan, as well as the CVD measure on the same products from China, will continue to be imposed. AD duties are levied in the form of a combination of fixed and a variable duty method or a floor price duty method.
The AD duty rate for China was set in a range of 1.0% to 30.4%, that for South Korea is 13.8%, Malaysia is subject to 20.8%, and Taiwan has a duty rate of 0% to 23.5%. China’s exporters and producers of subject goods, excluding Dalian Steelforce Hi-Tech Co. Ltd. and Huludao City Steel Pipe Industrial Co., Ltd., are assigned a CVD rate of 0.0% to 26.3%.
The products involved are under HS codes 7306.30.00.31, 7306.30.00.32, 7306.30.00.33, 7306.30.00.34, 7306.30.00.35, 7306.30.00.36, 7306.30.00.37, 7306.50.00.45, 7306.61.00.21, 7306.61.00.22, 7306.61.00.25, 7306.61.00.90, 7306.69.00.10, and 7306.90.00.12.
The announcement came into force after July 3, 2022.
