Taiwan’s Ta Chen: Small impact for US' remove of import tariffs on China

Inflation in the US keeps increasing. The US government will consider lifting the 25% import duty on China. The implementation might make Taiwanese businesses in the US lessen their competition in the US market.

Ta Chen International, which has several branch offices in the US, mentioned that it would not be impacted a lot because its main products are flat-rolled aluminum products, stainless steel, and fasteners, applied to the industry.

The US imposed anti-dumping duties on Chin’s stainless steel and flat-rolled aluminum products rather than tariffs. Therefore, the cancellation of tariffs on China will not impact the supply market much.

In terms of fasteners, Ta Chen kept exporting China’s fasteners even though the tariffs existed. Therefore, if the US removes tariffs in the future, it will lower its cost as well.
