Australia to impose extra tariffs of 25% on imports from Russia, Belarus

According to a joint statement released by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Foreign Affairs Minister Marise Payne, and Trade Minister Dan Tehan, Australia decided to impose an extra tariff of 35% on all imports from Russia and Belarus, besides the existing general duty rates, as an economic sanction in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The new tariffs will start on April 25, and the ban on Russia’s oil and other energy products will also begin on the same day.
