New order from voestalpine Stahl Donawitz

End of October the voestalpine Metal Engineering division end of October signed a new contract awarding INTECO with the order for the engineering and supply of a lab scale melt shop with a 5t heat size. This plant will be used to develop, melt and cast new steel grades in a pilot scale meltshop called the “Technikum Metallurgie”, however the blooms will be processed in the normal production plant for rails, pipes and wire.

In detail the production route consists of an induction furnace, a ladle furnace with plasma heating, a DETEM type vacuum plant and INTECO’s latest development in the field of casting, the segment caster.

The project follows a very ambitious time schedule as the first heat in the pilot plant is already planned for beginning of 2018. The long-time business relationship with the voestalpine group proves that INTECO has been a reliable businesspartner for many years and that excellent teamwork of client and supplier is crucial for successful projects.
