The Chilean National Commission for Price Distortions (CNDP) has decided not to begin an anti-dumping investigation on Chinese imports of high carbon steel bars, Kallanish learns from the authority. The investigation was requested by local steelmaker CAP Acero.
The product is classified under HS code 7228.3000 and is used for manufacturing conventional balls for grinding minerals and ores.
CNDP has decided not to take measures for the moment “... after available background [... information] to date does not find clear evidence of the existence of dumping on import prices between June 2018 and May 2019,” the commission notes.
The company says that will appeal to the decision and to discuss the situation with Chile`s President Sebastián Piñera.
